It’s extremely difficult to be honest with yourself and explore your vulnerabilities. However, you can’t be successful without performing this soul-searching.
Not many people know this but after leaving banking, it took me a long, LONG time to “get over” the fact that I was no longer the ranking female in the bank. As such, people would do whatever I asked them to do. And, of course, the benefits that go along with that sort of position were nice.
Then almost 4 years ago, something was presented to me and it sparked a thought that if I’m so good, I could become an entrepreneur and get back to calling all the shots or so I thought. After 3 years, I got a real dose of reality! I was practically at the same spot I was when I started. While I enjoyed the time freedom to spend time with my grandkids and family, I didn’t like the financial strain I was creating.
So, I finally decided to be coachable. I mean for real – coachable! I settled on a coach/mentor and am doing what I’m instructed to do and guess what? The business is turning the corner. It’s not where I know we’re going but we’re making positive moves getting there, one day at a time and the best part is – it’s the best move I’ve ever made.
So here are some thoughts for you:
If you’re tired of the grind or fearful of being downsized, eliminated or heaven forbid, asked to re-interview for your current job, look outside your comfort. It doesn’t have to be with me. I’m very blessed to have found my company and product line but there are other companies out there that might be a fit for you. But whatever you do, don’t settle.
I’ve got some ideas on how to collaborate a new business while keeping your current job. Message me and let’s see if I can help you!
