Failure. Most, if not all of us, believe failure to be an ugly word. It denotes rejection and bruises the ego.
I’m not saying I love the word but in my mind, it denotes that
- I’ve tried
- I’ve attempted something
- I’ve learned something that can be a success story in the future.
Failure also tells me
- I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone
- Which, over time, moves me, my business and my relationships to the next level.
So instead of lingering in my own little ‘pity party’, I can rest knowing that I thought of something, developed a plan and then acted.
The message today is don’t worry about failure. Take the steps I’ve mentioned about so you’re prepared to answer the question – positively- What Have You Failed at Last Week? Think of what Thomas Edison said regarding all the failures he incurred trying to develop the light bulb. He said, “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work!”
Persistence and focus. That’s the name of the game.
