Which Wolf Do You Feed?

As a student of Mindset, I’ve read the following story many times, always feeling encouraged that within me I have the capability to live an extraordinary life if I feed the right wolf.

Here is the story: 

One evening an elder Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, “My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us. One is Fear. It carries anxiety, concern, uncertainty, hesitancy, indecision and inaction. The other is Faith. It brings calm, conviction, confidence, enthusiasm, decisiveness, excitement and action.” The grandson thought about it for a moment and then meekly asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?” The old Cherokee replied, “The one you feed.”

FEAR is the great robber, thief and destroyer.  FEAR can be so debilitating, stopping us cold in our pursuits.  It can hold us back resulting in a life of regrets with piles of woulda, coulda, shouldas.  Feed your faith and live the life of no regrets.

Having a morning routine can help you feed the right wolf because it sets your day off on the right note.  For example, I:

  • Spend time about ½ hour reading the Bible and praying to God.
  • Do at least 10 minutes of mediation
  • Think and write down at least 3 things I’m grateful for today.
  • Invest in my learning.
  • Focusing on and how to accomplish the most important thing I need to do today.
  • Exercise
