That’s Mindset, having a positive attitude about your life – business – relationships. It’s the most influential factor in your life.
Following up on the intro video I did last week about Three Keys to Your Business Success, in today’s video I’m going to cover the 1st most essential point and that is Mindset.
Mindset can be defined as powerful habit creation. It’s how you think and how one prioritizes where and when you’ll spend your time. It’s a way of life that we program into our daily modus operandi which combines your why, your short story and your vision and allows you to think BIG things you want for your life and to DO BIG things in your life. It’s the driving force that keeps you doing the things that need to get done in your business.
With that said, there are a few hard questions I’d suggest asking yourself as it relates to your network marketing business (or any business) and your Mindset:
1. Are you treating your business like a business with consistent, daily or weekly attention to it? For most network marketers, the business is a side hustle with precious few hours available so they need to be allocated to fit into your current schedule! Consistent activity of those allocated hours is just as important as any other meeting you may have.
2. Are you staying the course? Are you easily swayed by the opinions of other people – family or friends or strangers? I think all of us are to some degree because we all have chicken lists. That said, mindset is so important to not relying on the approval of others. The right Mindset will give you the strength to resist.
3. If you really, truly believe in your company, your products, your opportunity, your comp plan, opinions of others really don’t matter, do they? If this is a stumbling block for you and you don’t seem to be making any progress in changing your Mindset, then perhaps Network Marketing isn’t for you. And that’s okay. It isn’t for everyone. No worries.
The trouble people have with Mindset is that everyone thinks their mindset is great. There’s one way to test where your mindset is – Look at your results. Your results tee up what your mindset really is – it’s probably not what your think it is.
With that said, here are a few things to ponder. There are a couple of terrific books on Mindset I’d recommend. One is the classic Think and Grow Rich and the other is Ray Higdon’s take on Hill’s Classic. Both are great reads regarding Mindset.
Tip: Do the personal development workshops at the end of end chapter in Ray’s book, you will find incredible value doing them.
